A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him. For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends. He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
