The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations. Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. The LORD of hosts has sworn: “As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will.
