For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. (Titus 2:11-13; Php 1:6; 2Cor 4:6; James 1:18)
