Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. (John 1:11-13; Rom 8:14-17; 1John 3:2)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. (Mic 6:8; Rom 7:18-19; Psa 51:10; 1Cor 1:27, 30; Col 1:13; Gal 5:16)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. (John 14:1-3; Col 3:4; 1Thes 4:16-17; Php 3:20-21)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. (John 1:1-3; Col 1:15-17; Heb 1:3)

Today's Thought

Today's Thought:

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me, Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. (John 1:14; Col 2:9; John 1:16; 2Cor 12;9; Col 1:11-13)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness. Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith. (2Cor 5:21; Rom 4:5, 5:1-2; Php 3:8-9)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

I am feeble and crushed; I groan because of the tumult of my heart. O Lord, all my longing is before you; my sighing is not hidden from you. My heart throbs; my strength fails me, and the light of my eyes—it also has gone from me. For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. (Psa 38:8-10; Rom 7:18; Eph 2:4-7; 2Cor 4:7)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus,Christ. (Psa 138:8; Rom 5:10-11, 26-27; Php 1:6)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips! Do not let my heart incline to any evil, to busy myself with wicked deeds in company with men who work iniquity, and let me not eat of their delicacies!(Pro 13:20; 2Cor 6:14-16; 1Cor 15:33; Psa 141:3-4)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?” Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul. I have not learned wisdom, nor have I knowledge of the Holy One. To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach...the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things, But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost [of sinners], Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life. (Rom 11:33-34; Psa 66:16; Pro 30:3; Eph 3:8-9; 1Tim 1:16)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Incline your ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. (Psa 86:1, 103:8; 1Pet 5:6-7; Php 4:5-7; Col 4:2)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared. I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Psa 130:3-5; 1John 4:10; 2Cor 4:6; Col 1:13-14; Rom 8:1)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him! For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations. But he is unchangeable, and who can turn him back? What he desires, that he does, making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will. (Psa 33:8-11; Job 23:13; Eph 1:9-11)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; our God is merciful. The LORD preserves the simple; when I was brought low, he saved me. Return, O my soul, to your rest; for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you. His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. (Psa 116:5-7; 2Pet 1:3-4; Eph 1:3-6)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

No one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one. I will give thanks to you, O LORD, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. For your steadfast love is great above the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth! (Rom 3:11-12; Eph 2:4-7; Psa 108:3-5)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty, covering yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent. The LORD reigns; he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed; he has put on strength as his belt. Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped himself in zeal as a cloak. This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. (Psa 104:1-2, 93:1; Isa 59:17; 1John 5-7)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? Oh sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. (Rom 5:1-2; Eph 6:3; 1John 5:4-5; Psa 98:1; 1COr 15:57-58)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1Cor 2:12; 1John 4:13-14; 2Pet 1:3-4; 2Thes 2:14)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

O LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure. Praise the LORD, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD! For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (Isa 25:1; Psa 117:1-2; Rom 8:2; Titus 3:4-7)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other. By steadfast love and faithfulness iniquity is atoned for, and by the fear of the LORD one turns away from evil. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Psa 85:10; Pro 16:6; 2Cor 4:6, 5:21;Rom 5:1-2, 8:1)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. (Mat 5:14-16; 1Tim 2:3-6; 2Cor 3:18)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. (Rom 6:11-13; 1Pet 1:14-15; 1Cor 6:19-20)
