Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Jehovah is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to his great mercy, has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from among the dead, to an incorruptible and undefiled and unfading inheritance, reserved in the heavens for you, who are kept guarded by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who against us? He who, yea, has not spared his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him grant us all things? Who shall bring an accusation against God's elect? It is God who justifies: who is he that condemns? It is Christ who has died, but rather has been also raised up; who is also at the right hand of God; who also intercedes for us. (Psa 16:5-6; 1Pet 1:3-5; Rom 8:31-34)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

**On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one.” Return, O my soul, to your rest; for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you. (John 7:37; Mat 11:28-29; John 6:37, 10:27-30; Psa 116:7)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me...” And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. But God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity." See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. (John 10:14; 1John 5:20; 2Tim 2;19; 1John 3:1-2; Rom 8:29; 2Cor 3:18)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior...For not from the east or from the west and not from the wilderness comes lifting up, but it is God who executes judgment, putting down one and lifting up another. Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. (1Tim 2:1-3; Psa 75:6-7; Rom 13:1; 1Pet 2:13-16)

Today's Thought:

Today's Thought:

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith—For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption... (Isa 61:10; Php 3:7-9; 2Cor 4:6-7; 1Cor 1:30)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts... For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. (Isa 55:8-9; 1Cor 1:18, 21, 2:13-14; 1John 5:20)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. “For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.” But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior... (Eph 2:10; Rom 8:29; Psa 51:10; Luke 6:43-45; John 15:3; Titus 3:4-6)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth. Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance...The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (1John 2:21; Pro 1:5, 9:10; 1John 5:20; 2Pet 1:19-21; 2Tim 3:16-17)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

I will sing of the steadfast love of the LORD, forever; with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations. Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Who can utter the mighty deeds of the LORD, or declare all his praise? He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. (Psa 89:1, 106:1-2; Col 1:13-14; 1Cor 1:30; Eph 5:8-10)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints... Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his deeds in songs of joy! As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. (Eph 6:16-18; Psa 107:21-22; 1Pet 2:4-5, 9)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and forevermore! From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the LORD is to be praised! Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence... Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. (Psa 113:2-3; Eph 1:3-6; 2Pet 1:3; Heb 13:15)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation." He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust. For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. (Psa 121:1-2; Isa 12:2; Psa 103:10, 14; Rom 5:6-8; Isa 53:6; 1John 4:9)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, "I believed, and so I spoke," we also believe, and so we also speak, knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. (Rom 8:11; 2Cor 4:13-14; 1Thes 4:14; Gal 2:20; Col 3:3-4)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

...fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” I can do all things through him who strengthens me. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. (Isa 41:10; Php 4:13; Isa 40:29-31; Col 1:11-12; 2Cor 4:7)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption... For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him. And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. (John 3:16-18; 1Cor 1:30; 2Cor 4:6; Eph 3:11-12; Col 1:9-10)

Today's Thought

Today's Thought:

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one.” Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God...Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (John 10:27-30; Heb 7:25; Pro 3:5-6; 2Cor 3:4-5; Eph 3:20-21)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Oh sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth! Sing to the LORD, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD! “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light...that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding forth the word of life... (Psa 96:1-3, 117:2; Acts 1:8; Mat 28:19-20; 1Pet 2:9; Php 2:15-16a)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love...Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Eph 4:1-2; 1Thes 5:16-18; Mat 5:14-16; 1Thes 5:23)

Today's Thought

Today's Thought:

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy." And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile, knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. (Rom 12:2; 1Pet 1:14-19; Rom 8:29; Php 3:20-21)

 Today's Thought:

May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption... In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. (1Cor 1:11-12; 1Pet 1:3-5; 1Cor 1:30; Eph 1:11-14)

Today's Thought

Today's Thought:

But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God...who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began... (1Tim 6:6-8; Heb 13:5; 2Pet 1:3-4; Eph 4:1; Col 1:10; 2Tim 1:19)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

...and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom...for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God...so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. (John 8:32, 36; Rom 8:2; 2Cor 3:17; 2Tim 1:7; Gal 5:13; 1Pet 2:16; Col 1:10)

Today's Thought

Today's Thought:

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in the way. He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. (Rom 8:26-27; John 14:26-27; Psa 25:8-9; Gal 5:25)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps. I know, O LORD, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground! “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.” But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Pro 16:9; Jer 10:23; Psa 25;5, 143:10; John 16:13-14; Gal 5:16-17, 22-23)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. But of Him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, both righteousness and sanctification and redemption... Jesus spoke these things and lifted up His eyes to Heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may also glorify You, as You gave to Him authority over all flesh, so that to all which You gave to Him, He may give to them everlasting life. And this is everlasting life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.” And we know that the Son of God has come, and He has given to us an understanding that we may know the true One, and we are in the true One, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and the life everlasting. (Pro 9:10; 1Cor 1:30; John 17:1-3; 1John 5:20)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

And be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is the good and pleasing and perfect will of God. Test all things, hold fast the good...let us hold fast the confession of the hope unyielding, for He who has promised is faithful. And let us consider one another, to incitement of love and of good works, not forsaking the assembling together of ourselves, as is the custom of some, but exhorting, and by so much more as you see the Day drawing near. So that, my beloved brothers, you be firm, immovable, abounding in the work of the Lord always, knowing that your labor is not without fruit in the Lord. For the rest, brothers, whatever is true, whatever honorable, whatever is right, whatever pure, whatever lovely, whatever of good report, if of any virtue, and if of any praise, think on these things. And what things you learned and received and heard and saw in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. (Rom 12:2; 1Thes 5:21; Heb 10:23-25; 1Cor 15:58; Php 4:8-9)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

I remember the days of old. I meditate on all Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands. Cause me to hear Your mercy in the morning, for I do trust in You; cause me to know the way I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You... Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, Rejoice! Let your reasonableness be known to all men. The Lord is near. Know that the LORD, He is God; He has made us, and not we ourselves, for we are His people and the sheep of His pasture...for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them. But of Him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, both righteousness and sanctification and redemption, for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them... Make me know Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths; You crown the year of Your goodness, and Your paths drip with fatness.
