Today's Thought

Today's Thought:

How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God. For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly. His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (Psa 84:1-2, 10-11; 2Pet 1:3-4; 2Cor 4:6)

Today's Thought

Today's Thought:

How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD of hosts! May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you! May those who love your salvation say evermore, “God is great!” I will greatly rejoice in the LORD; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. (Psa 84:1, 70:4; Isa 61:10; 2Cor 5:21; Rom 3:22-26)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Selah The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. (Psa 68:19; Lam 3:22-24; 2Cor 4:6; 1Thes 5:23-24; Php 2:13)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

But the righteous shall be glad; they shall exult before God; they shall be jubilant with joy! Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift! And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption. And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. (Psa 68:3; 1Pet 1:8-9; 2Cor 9:15; 1Cor 1:30; 1John 5:11-12; Jude 1:30-31)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness, O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas; the one who by his strength established the mountains, being girded with might; who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples. Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this. (Psa 65:5-7, 2:1-4; Isa 9:6-7)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

...as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Rom 3:10-12, 23-24; 2Cor 4:6; Acts 4:12; Eph 2:8-10)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Let the righteous one rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in him! Let all the upright in heart exult! But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. (Psa 64:10; Gal 6:14, 2:20; Rom 8:3-4: Heb 10:14)

Today's Thought

Today's Thought:

My soul yearns for you in the night; my spirit within me earnestly seeks you. For when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me. I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. (Isa 26:9; Psa 63:8; Php 4:13; 2Cor 3:4-5; James 1:17; Jude 1:24-25)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. (Psa 62:5-7; Lam 3:24; Col 3:1-4; 1John 3:1-4)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one. (Psa 55:22; 1Pet 1:3-5; John 10:27-30)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word. (Psa 51:17; Isa 57:15; 2Cor 1:3-4; 2Thes 2:16-17)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips. Jesus said.., “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. (Psa 51;15, 63:3-5; John 14:6, 15:11; Acts 1:8; Heb 13:15)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Prove me, O LORD, and try me; test my heart and my mind. Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Psa 26:2, 51:6-7; John 4:23-24; Eph 3:20-21)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me...” I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever. I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. (Psa 50:23a, 86:12; Rom 12:1-3; Col 3:17; 1Pet 2:9)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

The Mighty One, God the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting. “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. All things are full of weariness; a man cannot utter it; the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. I have seen everything that is done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind. Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. (Psa 50:1; Mat 11:28-30; Ecc 1:8, 14; Rom 7:24-25a; Psa 23:1-3)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Truly no man can ransom another, or give to God the price of his life, for the ransom of their life is costly and can never suffice, For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile, knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. (Psa 49:7-8; 1Tim 2:6; 1Pet 1:17-19; 1Cor 6:19-20)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Better is a handful of quietness than two hands full of toil and a striving after wind. (Psa 46:10, 42:5; Php 4:6-7; 1Pet 5:6-7; Ecc 4:6)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation say continually, “Great is the LORD!” Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! Thus says the LORD: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Today's Thought

Today's Thought:

As for you, O LORD, you will not restrain your mercy from me; your steadfast love and your faithfulness will ever preserve me! Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. (Psa 40:11, 85:10; Rom 5:1-2; 1Cor 1:30; 1John 4:9; Jude 1:24-25)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart. Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O LORD, God of hosts. Is not my word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvationif indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (Psa 40:8; Jer 15:16, 23:29; Heb 4:12; Rom 10:17; 1Pet 2:2-3; 2Tim 3:16-17)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Ah, Lord GOD! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you. You have multiplied, O LORD my God, your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us; none can compare with you! I will proclaim and tell of them, yet they are more than can be told. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. (Jer 32:17; Psa 40:5; 2Cor 4:6; Eph 1:3-6)

Today's Thought

Today's Thought:

Now, therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts: Consider your ways. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil. Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Hag 1:5; Pro 4:25-27; Eph 5:15-17; 1Cor 14:20; Rom 12:2)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Mark the blameless and behold the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace. And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever. Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. (Psa 37:5-6; Pro 3:5-6; 2 Pet 1:19-21; Gal 5:16-17)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. (Psa 34:22; John 3:16-18; Rom 5:1-2, 8:1; Col 3:4)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. So Jesus again said.., “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one. (Psa 34:8; Pet 1:3; John 10:7-9, 27-30)

Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous, and give thanks to his holy name! Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. Today's Thought

 Today's Thought:

Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe...But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.” (Psa 37:3-4; 1Pet 1:17-19; Heb 12;28; Php 3:20-21; 1Cor 2:9)

Today's Thought

Today's Thought:

Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty, covering yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent. How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light. Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Today's Thought

 Today's Thought - A new year begins...

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ...for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. (Gen 1:3-4; 1John 1:5; John 1:14, 4-5; 2Cor 4:6; Eph 5:8)
