 Today's Thought:

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But there are some of you who do not believe.” And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.” But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (John 6:63-64a, 65; Gal 3:22; Titus 3:3-7; Rom 6:23)
