And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him...When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called. (Col 1:21-22, 3:4; Titus 2:11-14; Eph 4:1)
